1.   Main Manifestations
Firstly, there is epigastric or periumbilical pain which soon moves down to the right lower quadrant. The pain is localized, intensified by pressure and accompanied by limited extention of right leg, chills and fever, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dark urine, thin yellowish stickly tongue coating , and rapid forceful pulse. The presence of excruciating pain intolerable with pressure, tenseness of belly, palpable lump found in the local of abdomen, high fever, spontaneous sweating, and surging and rapid pulse indicates a severe condition.

2.  Prescription
Tianshu (ST 25), Lanwei (EX- LE 7), Quchi (LI 11) and Shangjuxu (ST 37).

3.   Treatment

Points from Large Intestine Meridian and Stomach Meridians are chiefly prescribed. Reducing technique is applied with needles retained for 20 to 40 minutes. The treatment is given usually once or twice a day, but once every four hours for the severe cases.
