There are many ways to classify hair loss. A useful classification method has been whether the loss of hair loss is localized (small area) and patchy or will affect a large area or the entire scalp (spread). The classification of hair loss, including other medical and non-scarring hair loss, scars, beyond the scope of this article.

Patchy hair loss

Some conditions produce small areas of hair loss, while others affect large areas of the scalp. Common cause of hair loss sheet
